JLPT N1Four-character idioms

Meaning
Explanation
"玉石混交(混淆)" means that, like precious jewels and mere stones mixed together, excellent things and worthless things are jumbled together without distinction. It is used to assess situations where the quality of information, submitted works, and so on varies. Unlike c2's sense of distinguishing or sorting, the core is a state where good and bad are mixed unsorted.
