JLPT N2Four-character idioms

Meaning
Explanation
「一石二鳥」, from the sense of bringing down two birds at once with a single stone, expresses gaining two benefits with one act. It originally comes from a translation of an English proverb. c3 is the opposite in that the stone is thrown and 「misses」; the correct point is that you reliably gain both, not aim and fail.
