「捲土重来（けんどちょうらい）」は、土煙を巻き上げる勢いで再びやって来る意から、一度敗れたり失敗したりした者が、勢いを盛り返してもう一度挑むことをいう。再起・リベンジを期する場面で使う。c2・c4 は「捲土」を字面どおり土をめくる作業と誤読したもので、敗者の再挑戦という核心を外している。
