JLPT N2Four-character idioms

Meaning
Explanation
「平身低頭」, from the image of lowering one's body and bowing the head down until it touches the ground, expresses being utterly humble while apologizing or pleading. It is used in scenes of apology or supplication. It is the exact opposite of c4's 「頭を下げない強い態度」(a strong attitude of not bowing); the key point is humbling oneself and taking a low posture.
