JLPT N1Four-character idioms

Meaning
Explanation
"泰然自若" describes being settled and calm like Mount Tai, keeping one's composure and being unshaken no matter what happens. It is a term praising an attitude of not losing calm even in a crisis or unexpected situation. Unlike c1's "spiritless from waning vigor", this is calm with a core of strength inside, not passive indifference.
