Translation

Green tea is a tea often drunk in Japan. It is made using tea leaves, but it is divided into several types depending on how it is made.

The one most commonly drunk at home is "sencha." Sencha is made by steaming and rolling the tea leaves. It has a little bitterness and umami, and is often drunk during meals or when taking a break.

When tea leaves are roasted over a strong fire, they become "hojicha." Hojicha has a fragrant aroma and little bitterness, so it is said to be easy to drink for everyone from children to the elderly.

"Matcha" is made by grinding tea leaves grown in a special way into powder. You add hot water and mix it with a tool to drink. Besides being drunk in the tea ceremony, matcha has recently become popular as a flavor for ice cream and sweets too. Even with the same green tea, the taste and aroma change depending on the type.
